Ashland Peters is a Detective with the New York Police Department. This whole book felt rushed and had no real character development. The female lead would vacillate back and forth between not wanting a mate, wanting him, not again, being a slut for wanting both, being mad at them, etc. Over and over again, usually all within a few paragraphs. The author repeatedly told you what happened to her as a kid but it was vague and unrealistic. She went from being a tough cop to a basket case in a flash. And for someone that doesn't know anything about wolf society, she knew an awful lot in weirdly convenient moments and would be totally clueless on others. I had NO emotional connection to any of these characters. The time line was also wonky. The male leads were just there to cue her fight or flight response, that's about all I got out of that relationship. I want my .99 back.Product details

Grammar, which is appalling; words are spelt wrongly and past and present tenses used in the same sentence. I have been wondering if this story has been proof read. Some of the sentences didn't sound right eg., Ash thought to herself something in one sentence. The next sentence after that was narrated. So the same thing was said twice. Another thing the phone rang after Ash and her men had been making love, and Jonas spoke about them being needed quickly downstairs. Ash went off to shower on her own knowing that if they all had a shower together, they'd make love and be late. She comes out of the shower, goes into the living room where one of the twins is...and they end up having a quickie...what happened to the urgency go the situation?
I actually missed 3 chapters towards the end...got tired of all the errors. Would have gotten 4 stars if things had been better. Won't be buying anymore titles from this author.
About halfway through this book I realized that I have read other books by this author in the past, and in fact, I have already read the book that follows this one. This particular story gave me some insight into the characters I had already read about, and answered the questions I previously had about how Ashland became the mate to TWO werewolves.
I really enjoyed the premise of this book. It's a good story and it captured & held my attention from the very beginning. There are two reasons I did not give this book 5 stars One was the numerous grammatical errors, which at times tended to confuse me as to what the author was trying to say. The second thing that bothered me was the dialog. It just seemed somewhat formal and a little stiff in some places, and then in other areas the conversations seemed rather juvenile to me. It just didn't read as smoothly as I would have liked. Having said that, putting these two issues aside, I really did enjoy this book and would definitely recommend it.
Really enjoyed the book. I will say editing is a problem with this author. Also, there were times that the writing was a bit immature? I guess that would be the word? These characters are in their late 20s and early 30s and there shouldn't be any immaturity in the way they act or are written. Just sayin. It was at the beginning a little and then it evened out as it went along mostly. Kind of inconsistent when writing. Not saying I didn't enjoy the book because I did! I loved Ash's character she was a really strong woman and I don't mean her physical strength. I liked Larsen and Larken....they were written really well. Book had plenty of twists and turns. Didn't take much for Ash to lose her cool sometimes. Nash...he was written kinda immature. I think it was mostly how he was written and Ash too almost like they were still teenagers sometimes and it came out in the book a lot. So, I hope the next book is better as far as that goes. We shall see. I do like Bryce's ideas and they are great and she's got the potential to be a great writer. Just her editing and character development is off.
Bryce Evans is a new to me author that I discovered through Facebook somehow. The teaser was posted and I was hooked just from a teaser! It's very rare for that to happen to me, but I knew I had to have more!
This book is about Ashland and her traveling to see her best friend Nash. While Ash knew she was different and knew all about weres she was unprepared to find not one man but two claiming to be her mates! Ash is very conflicted about this because of her past growing up. Ash has always felt like people were taking her control away and forcing her to do things. When she is confronted with her mates she feels the panic of her control being taking away...
Larken and Larsen are twins and they are the mates of Ash. These two men are so hot, Larken is the Alpha of the pack and Larsen is his Beta, yup that made it delicious! I fell is love with these two, while they are twins, they have different personalities that just made my day. Larken used to being in control and the total Alpha has to slam on the brakes when he realizes that Ash is balking from having a mate. He had the hardest task, I felt because he found her first and he had to slam on his mating instincts. Larsen on the other hand is cool & controlled in the beginning, ready to step aside for Larken. The bothers decide neither can deny the other's happiness so they are both to be mated to Ash. Larsen is the more sensitive and seemingly more attuned to Ash's needs than Larken but, Larken is the total alpha being completely protective and loves her fiercely!
If I were in Ash's shoes there would be no way on Earth I would've been able to choose! And that's just the relationship! This book has a whole cast of characters that I enjoyed to no end- I am going to one click the second in the series today! There is some suspense, drama, and of course hot alpha crawling through the pages of this book!
Forewarning There are some grammar mistakes that were caught by editing, and so sometimes the conversations are stilted or something doesn't flow. If this is going to be a problem for you don't buy it! If this isn't a problem for you, like me, then go one-click it!
